The Aichi prefecture is located in the Chubu region of central Japan, bordering Mie, Gifu, Nagano, and Shizuoka prefectures. Aichi Japan has so much to offer from the Nagoya aquarium and the Nagoya castle to Korankei Gorge, to strawberry picking Aichi has something for everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s no shortage of things to do in Nagoya, the prefecture\u2019s capital city. A port city on the coast of the Ise Bay, it\u2019s Japan\u2019s fourth most populated city. Living in Nagoya is less expensive than some of the other large Japanese cities, but the city is vibrant in culture with a real mix of old and new.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nagoya is a great city for anyone considering living in Aichi. The city is linked up well by public transport; it\u2019s on the Tokaido Shinkansen line, taking around 50 minutes to get to Osaka, and approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes to get to Tokyo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Transportation in Aichi Japan<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Aichi is served by the Chubu Centrair International Airport on an artificial island in Tokoname City, just south of Nagoya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bullet train connects Aichi to big cities including Kyoto and Tokyo from the JR Nagoya Station. The Kintetsu and Meitetsu trains connect Nagoya to other cities in Aichi and Mie prefecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since it is located in central Japan, the prefecture has easy access to many of Japan\u2019s prefectures if you\u2019ve run out of things to do in Aichi and fancy a trip somewhere else. Express highway buses and overnight buses are connecting Aichi to various regions of Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For anyone considering visiting Aichi Japan, Nagoya is a particularly popular destination. For anyone in Nagoya with children, a visit to the Nagoya Aquarium is guaranteed to be one of the most exciting things to do in Nagoya for your children \u2013 or any curious adults!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Japan has a lot of aquariums, but Nagoya Aquarium is one of the largest. The aquarium has beluga whales, dolphins, orca<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nagoya Aquarium is in the Port of Nagoya. Tickets cost \u00a52030. The Meiko subway line provides easy access to the aquarium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Nagoya Castle<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There are a few places to go and things to do in Nagoya if you\u2019re looking to appreciate the city\u2019s architecture and learn about its history. Nagoya Castle is a particular highlight<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nagoya Castle was constructed in 1612 during the Edo period. The castle is known for a pair of golden shachihoko (a mythical tiger-fish combination) at the top of the tower. Anyone living in Aichi must visit the castle at some point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Atsuta Jingu<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Another one of our recommended things to do in Nagoya is a visit to Atsuta Jingu, one of the most revered Shinto shrines. The shrine homes a sacred sword, the Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi sword. Though this sword is not on display, you can enjoy a large number of samurai swords out on display.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strawberry Picking Aichi<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019re looking to enjoy some family time outside why not try strawberry picking?  One of the most popular things to do in Aichi is strawberry picking. It\u2019s a wholesome way to spend time with nature and with good company, not to mention the tasty fruit! If you think you\u2019d like strawberry picking Aichi is the place to be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strawberry picking season in Aichi is usually from December to May. It costs somewhere between \u00a51500 and \u00a52000 for an hour of strawberry picking. The prices tend to fluctuate depending on the month. To try out strawberry picking at one of these farms you usually have to make a reservation in advance so please check out each farm\u2019s website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are various places to try strawberry picking in Aichi, some of the farms include Obu South Strawberry Farm<\/a>,  Minamichita Green Valley Strawberry Farm<\/a> in Aichi\u2019s Chita district, Oregon Farm, and Winery<\/a> in Tokoname and Gamagori Orange Park<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond strawberry picking, you can also enjoy picking a variety of different fruits through the seasons in Aichi; including persimmons, oranges, and melons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are plenty more things to do in Aichi beyond what is listed here, so please go out and discover this special prefecture for yourself!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tsurama Park, known as a cherry blossom viewing spot, Okazaki Park, which has beautiful wisteria in late spring\/early summer, and Aichi Earth Expo Memorial Park are just some of the famous parks in Aichi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you want things to do in Nagoya on a rainy day, please consider a trip to one of the city\u2019s museums. For science lovers, there is the Nagoya City Science Museum, or for art lovers, the Nagoya City Art Museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
