Check out\nour article on Yokohama to help you make a decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are so many\nexciting places that you can visit in Japan, that it can seem impossible to\nchoose just one. If you would like to stay near Tokyo but experience a slightly\nlesser-known part of Japan, you can try Yokohama. It is near Tokyo and has many\nfamous places to see. It has a large number of activities to enjoy and great\nplaces to experience. It was originally a large shipping yard in\nthe 1800s and was eventually transformed into the city center it is today.\nSince it was a harbor, it is positioned next to the water and has many things\nfor visitors to enjoy. There are shopping centers, an amusement park, hotels, a\nlarge convention center, hot springs, museums, and relaxation areas. You can\nsee a clear view of the Yokohama skyline as well as the large Ferris wheel.\nThere is enough here to keep you busy for multiple days, and it is close to\nTokyo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vhbloglive.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/2-6.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3935\" height=\"400\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.villagehouse.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/2-6.png 764w, https:\/\/blog.villagehouse.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/2-6-300x200.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 764px) 100vw, 764px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Chinatown<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the\nlargest of Japan\u2019s big three Chinatowns and it has become a featured attraction\nfor the city. There are many events in the area and it has some of the best\nrestaurants to get traditional Chinese food. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yokohama\nChinatown began in 1859 while the harbor was still in operation and the area\nhas shifted from predominantly residential to more business-oriented. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.villagehouse.jp\/en\/?utm_source=vhblog&amp;utm_medium=display&amp;utm_campaign=2020&amp;utm_content=2019-12-16-static-property-768x300-v1-enhp-sitevisitors\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/vhbloglive.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/768x300-EN.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1862\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.villagehouse.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/768x300-EN.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blog.villagehouse.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/768x300-EN-300x117.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>There are four\nmain gates to enter the area and five more gates in the main area. There are stores\nto buy souvenirs and other local items to take home, but the main reason to\nvisit the area is the food. It is easy to find the gates as they stand out\nagainst the rest of their surroundings. They are also near some of the more\npopular areas of the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vhbloglive.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/3-6.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3938\" width=\"768\" height=\"400\" title=\"\"><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Cup Noodles Museum<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the\nbiggest attractions of the area is the Cup Noodle Museum. Visitors can enter\nand see the visual timeline of the Cup Noodle company and its products. You can\nalso view new artwork that is meant to show the company\u2019s approach to making\nnew products. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the most popular\nattractions is the ability to make your cup ramen that you can take home and\neat. Since it is so popular, you will need to make a reservation beforehand.\nThere is a large kids section that allows children to play in a small version\nof the factory and they sell small portioned foods as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vhbloglive.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/4-5.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3941\" height=\"400\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.villagehouse.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/4-5.png 680w, https:\/\/blog.villagehouse.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/4-5-300x225.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Yamashita Park<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a large\nopen park with its standout attraction being a large ship off the shore. It used\nto be a large liner that had rooms that would bring in wealthy families, but it\nhas since been retired and now serves as a museum. You can visit the Yokohama\nMarine Tower and get a full 360 view of the area. The path that runs along the\nwater\u2019s edge sees many visitors walking among it. There are nice views of the\ncity as well as the ocean. The park has a large number of fountains and statues\nfor people to enjoy as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vhbloglive.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/5-4.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3944\" height=\"400\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.villagehouse.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/5-4.png 764w, https:\/\/blog.villagehouse.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/5-4-300x200.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 764px) 100vw, 764px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Ramen Museum<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This is an entire\nmuseum dedicated to the tasty noodle dish that was first introduced to Japan\nfrom China. The museum follows the history of ramen from its introduction to\nJapan to when the instant noodles were first invented. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is a full\nreplica of an old Japanese town that saw ramen rise in popularity and it\ncontains seven ramen restaurants that you can try. A special feature is the\nmini ramen that allows visitors to try the different stalls\u2019 ramen. It is a\nshort walk from Shin-Yokohama station and is a great place to experience one of\nthe most popular dishes in Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vhbloglive.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/6-3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3947\" height=\"400\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.villagehouse.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/6-3.png 680w, https:\/\/blog.villagehouse.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/6-3-300x225.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Hakkejima<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Hakkejima is\nlocated on a small island off of Yokohama and can be reached by train. Visitors\nare allowed to use the park and its facilities for free. You only pay to enjoy\nthe attractions and the aquarium. They have many aquatic attractions there like\na lagoon and dolphin show. The Pleasure Island part of the park has attractions\nlike the surf coaster, merry-go-round, and the blue fall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vhbloglive.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/7-3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3950\" width=\"768\" height=\"400\" title=\"\"><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Sankeien Gardens<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This famous garden\nhas had multiple historic buildings transported to its grounds. It is a\npicturesque area that has small ponds and a river that runs through it. They are great places for the entire family or a simple couples\u2019\ngetaway. There are other smaller spots you can visit in Yokohama, and if you ever\nwant a little more to do, you can always take a train into Tokyo.
