A major tourist city is Tokyo and it\nis one of the most well-known cities in the world. There are so many places to\ngo and things to see that many travelers can&#8217;t seem to figure out which places\nto go. There are some obvious choices, but there are some hidden gems that the\ncasual visitor would miss if they don&#8217;t look hard enough. We will look at some\npopular and some lesser-known places you should visit when you go to Tokyo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vhbloglive.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/1-3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3307\" width=\"768\" height=\"400\" title=\"\"><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Akihabara<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We will start by looking at the ever-popular\nAkihabara. This city is well known by many across the planet as a place to\nenjoy anime, gaming, and any other hobby you find yourself interested in. One\nof the biggest attractions is Electric City, which is directly outside of the\nstation. There many arcades to visit and specialty shops that sell hard to find\nfigures or other merchandise. It is a wonderful place to visit to get a taste\nof Otaku culture in Japan. On Sundays, they close the main roads from 1:00 to\n6:00 pm and people can walk freely on the road without fear of moving vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vhbloglive.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/2-3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3310\" width=\"768\" height=\"400\" title=\"\"><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Meiji Jingu<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This is one of Japan&#8217;s most well-known and\nlargest shrines. The shrine is seen as one of the top spots to visit in Tokyo\nand it was erected in memory of the late Emperor Meiji. It was constructed in\n1921 and still stands as a great monument that is visited by many Japanese\npeople throughout the year. It is especially popular during the New Year&#8217;s\nfestivities and sees overwhelming crowds during that time. It&#8217;s one spot that\nyou should consider during your stay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vhbloglive.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/3-3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3313\" width=\"768\" height=\"400\" title=\"\"><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Sensoji Temple<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This large temple is in the Asakusa district\nand is only a twenty-minute walk from Tokyo Skytree. The other name that it\ngoes by is Asakusa Kannon Temple and it is known for its giant lanterns at its\nlarge front gate. The temple is dedicated to the goddess, Kannon, who is known\nas a goddess of mercy. This is another spot that is popular during New Years\nand sees massive crowds of people every year as they try to get their New\nYear&#8217;s fortunes. It is Tokyo&#8217;s oldest temple and it has a massive shopping\nstreet, Nakamise, located at the outer gate. The shopping street has a large\nvariety of shops that will fulfill the souvenir needs of any traveler. The surrounding area has temples and shrines for people to visit and\nenjoy, and the structure has picture spots labeled around it. You can be sure\nto find the perfect picture, especially during the seasonal events that frequently\nhappen there. If you want to go to the upper decks of Tokyo Tower, you need to\nhave around 3,000 yen on you. The upper decks boast a fantastic view of Tokyo\nand they have a caf\u00e9 that will allow you to take in the sites at your leisure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vhbloglive.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/5-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3319\" height=\"400\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.villagehouse.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/5-2.png 710w, https:\/\/blog.villagehouse.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/5-2-300x224.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 710px) 100vw, 710px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Tokyo Skytree<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Tokyo Skytree has\nthe title of the tallest structure in all of Japan. It can be seen from many\nplaces around Japan and has been a tourist attraction since it was built in\n2012 and stands at 634 meters tall. It is mainly a television and broadcasting\ntower but it also has two observation decks and a caf\u00e9, as well as multiple\ngift shops. The Tokyo Skytree holds many events and galleries in and around the\ntower. It located next to the Toho Cinema in Kabuki Cho. It\nis only a fifteen-minute walk from Shinjuku station and has a few streets that\nare packed with small bars. The bars are all positioned next to each other,\nwhich allows you to try a variety of establishments in one evening. It a great\nplace to begin or end a long night. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vhbloglive.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/7-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3325\" width=\"768\" height=\"400\" title=\"\"><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Yomiuriland<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Yomiuriland is\none of Tokyo&#8217;s well-known amusement parks. It houses many attractions and rides\nthat the whole family can enjoy. There are a few companies that have set up\ntheir buildings on the amusement park grounds where they hold their tours and\nattractions. During the summer months, they have water slides and a small swim\npark that the public can enjoy. It is a well-known dating area thanks to its many\nscenic spots near the water. It is common to see couples walking during sunset\nand enjoying the lit paths near the malls. There are museums located in the\nPallet town mall, and the biggest attraction is the 4-story Gundam that stands\noutside of Diver&#8217;s city. They have many small events in and around the\nbuildings, and during summertime, they hold beautiful fireworks festivals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vhbloglive.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/9-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3331\" width=\"768\" height=\"400\" title=\"\"><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Harajuku<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the most\nfamous fashion street in all of Tokyo. It is known around the world for its\nstores and cosplayers who go to show off their outfits. You can find many kinds\nof specialty clothing shops that can make your personal items as well. If you look, you will find\nthings and places that will pique your interest.
