The tourists\nwho go there have so many places to choose from it could be hard to set a good\nschedule. Some places in Tokyo don&#8217;t get as much notoriety as others, so in\nthis article, we will look at Machida. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Machida is a\nmedium-sized city in the Western part of Tokyo. It is next to Kanagawa\nprefecture and is near to all the major areas of Tokyo. It receives a bad\nreputation from some of the people from other cities for having some bad\nelements, but it is a very peaceful city with some interesting sights and\nhistory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Machida village\nwas created in 1889 and was accepted into Tokyo city in 1893. It has nine\nuniversities in its city limits, and a large number of schools to tend to its population\nof over 500,000 people. There have been a few famous people from the area, and\nthe town has been used as the basis for the first Pok\u00e9mon games. There are two\nmajor sports teams and they have recently added a third.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are a few\nplaces in Machida that you should consider when looking for things to do there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vhbloglive.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/1-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3238\" width=\"768\" height=\"400\" title=\"\"><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Machida Squirrel Garden<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Machida squirrel park is located about\nfifteen minutes from the main station. It houses many squirrels in a closed\narea. Tourists can enjoy walking among the squirrels and feeding them by hand,\nwith an oven mitt on for protection, and the animals aren&#8217;t afraid of humans.\nThey will gladly interact with people if they receive their treats as a reward.\nThey have other small animals there, such as rabbits, turtles, insects, and\nsmall reptiles. It opens throughout the year and is a wonderful attraction for\nthose wanting a unique experience in Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vhbloglive.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/2-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3241\" width=\"768\" height=\"400\" title=\"\"><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Buaiso Museum<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are looking to see the traditional side\nof Japan this museum will make for a wonderful time. It has one of the last\nremaining thatch roofs in the country and is near the station. The museum\ncontains pieces from old Japan and showcases the items with as much\nauthenticity as possible. There is a caf\u00e9 on the museum grounds as well, and it\nis known for its traditional Japanese meals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vhbloglive.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/3-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3244\" width=\"768\" height=\"400\" title=\"\"><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Tadao Park<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A short walk from the station will lead you to\na relaxing area of green trees and beautiful flowers. It&#8217;s a perfect area for\npicnicking and just to relax and enjoy nature. It has been completely remodeled from its original\ndesign. The new stores and look are great to see and experience. If you want to\ndo some shopping this is the best place in the area outside of the shopping\narea at the main station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vhbloglive.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/5.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3250\" height=\"400\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.villagehouse.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/5.png 681w, https:\/\/blog.villagehouse.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/5-300x233.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 681px) 100vw, 681px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Machida City Museum of Graphic Arts<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This museum showcases over 30,000 pieces of\nart from Japan and other western parts of the world. It is walking distance\nfrom the station and is open throughout the year. It was originally opened in\n1987 and was one of the few museums dedicated to printed artworks. They have\nspecial events and lectures from time to time, and they are interested in\nintroducing art and its many forms to the people. You can enjoy the on-site\ncaf\u00e9 as well, and walk around the outside area that showcases a few pieces of\nart. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vhbloglive.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/6.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3253\" height=\"400\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.villagehouse.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/6.png 741w, https:\/\/blog.villagehouse.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/6-300x214.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 741px) 100vw, 741px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Machida Nakamise Shopping Street<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Adjacent to the station is the Nakamise\nshopping street. It is tucked inside a walkway in the main shopping area near\nthe station. They have a large number of stores crammed next to each other and\noffer some interesting shops to sift through. You may be able to find some\nsecret gems tucked away on the store shelves. There are a few foods stands near\nthe south exits that serve fresh-made sweets and fried foods. You can find a\nnice place to have a drink with the locals there as well. You can get all the\nthings you&#8217;re looking for in the area if you want to find some good souvenirs\nto take home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vhbloglive.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/7.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3256\" height=\"400\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.villagehouse.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/7.png 504w, https:\/\/blog.villagehouse.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/7-286x300.png 286w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 504px) 100vw, 504px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Snoopy Museum<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>People may not know this, but Snoopy is\nextremely popular in Japan. You find all kinds of merchandise with the\ncharacter emblazoned across it. Since there was a large level of popularity, a\nSnoopy museum was opened. The museum is completely dedicated to all things\ncreated by Charles Schulz. They have some original prints of the comic strip,\nand all the Peanuts merchandise available. Some of the ramen shops in Machida serve some\nof the best ramen in the city. You can easily find something you will enjoy in\nMachida, and since the city is near to the other more popular areas of Tokyo,\nit is an ideal place to make hotel reservations.
