Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When visiting Hiroshima, many people will visit the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park to learn about the history of what happened in Hiroshima and to hope, think, and pray for world peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Naturally, since the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park is the most popular park in the prefecture, this park is also one of the most popular places to see sakura in Hiroshima.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shimanami Kaido<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One active and unique way to appreciate the season of cherry blossom in Hiroshima is by doing the Shimanami Kaido. This is Japan\u2019s most famous cycling route and it is just over 70 kilometers of utterly beautiful scenery. It can be done in a day by both expert and fairly beginner cyclists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cycling is a beautiful way to take in the views of an area, and this island-hopping route certainly offers a lot of them. Technically crossing two prefectures (Hiroshima and Ehime), you can still start in Hiroshima in the morning and be back by the end of the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are doing the trip, make sure to stop at Senkoji Park in Onomichi, which is a short ropeway ride up to the top of Mt. Senkoji. Mt. Senkoji has some of the most breathtaking views of sakura in Hiroshima. Here you will find over 10,000 cherry blossoms against a backdrop of the Seto Inland Sea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
